Our After School Programs

Redwood City School District (RCSD) works with a variety of public, grant-funded, and private partners to provide students with expanded learning opportunities in what would be traditionally considered "after hours". Extended Day Programs are open every school day into the early evening, offering flexibility in each family’s schedule.

These programs offer a balance of academic support, enrichment activities, and opportunities for students to explore their interests in areas such as STEAM, the arts, and physical fitness. By participating, students reinforce what they learn during the school day, build confidence, and develop skills that prepare them for success in school and beyond.

ELOP and ASES Programs

The following organizations participate in the RCSD ELOP (Extended Learning Opportunity) and ASES (After School Education and Safety) programs. ELOP is available to all RCSD students, prioritizing unduplicated students as defined by California state guidelines (students eligible for free or reduced-price meals, FRPM, students who are mastering the English language, EL or English learners, foster youth, and students who qualify for services under the McKinney-Vento Act or housing insecurity). During the spring and summer, after completing the First Day of School Packet, Expanded Learning Opportunities partners reach out directly to eligible families (unduplicated students) to complete their own organizational registration process. Once these students are seated, if there are remaining seats available, program partners reach out to additional families. Seat availability is determined by each partner organization.
