Our School Garden

We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Climate Corps Education Outside. The program's goal is to immerse our students in the wonders of gardening and nature exploration.

In the heart of our garden, students will gain hands-on experiences that cover a spectrum of subjects.  They will learn the intricacies of soil composition, witness the marvels of plant life cycles and discover diverse animal habitats - the garden becomes a living classroom. Not only will they understand the science behind it, but they'll also engage in the art of gardening — planting, nurturing, harvesting, and preparing the produce they've cultivated. This learning is delivered through weekly garden sessions offered to all students at Henry Ford from TK - 5th grade.  Our garden goes beyond the conventional learning environment, giving students a chance to learn to appreciate the natural world.

The garden is funded through the PTA - donations to the program are welcome, along with community/company sponsorship. This program exists because of the generous donations by parents, community, local companies, and grants. Volunteers are always welcome to help out in the garden with their child's classroom or on special garden days.
