Our School Garden

We are thrilled to introduce our innovative Garden Program, a collaboration with Climate Corps Education Outside. The goal is to immerse our students in the wonders of gardening and nature exploration.

In the heart of our garden, students will gain hands-on experiences that cover a spectrum of subjects.  They will learn the intricacies of soil composition, witness the marvels of plant life cycles and discover diverse animal habitats - the garden becomes a living classroom. Not only will they understand the science behind it, but they'll also engage in the art of gardening — planting, nurturing, harvesting, and preparing the produce they've cultivated. This learning is delivered through weekly garden sessions offered to all students at Henry Ford from TK - 5th grade.
Our garden transcends the conventional learning environment, giving students a chance to learn to appreciate the natural world.

Community involvement is pivotal to the success of this program. That's why we've established monthly community workdays. On the 4th Saturday of each month, we invite our community, families, and students to roll up their sleeves and contribute to our school garden.

The garden is funded through the PTA - donations to the program are welcome, along with community/company sponsorship. This program exists because of the generous donations by parents, community, local companies, and grants. Volunteers are always welcome as well!  We look forward to seeing you at our Garden workdays!
