The Collaborative, initiated in 2020, has proved to be highly successful in expanding school mental health support and delivery. With the implementation of this partnership, at least 75 percent of Redwood City School District (RCSD) students indicate they now feel comfortable speaking with a counselor, recognize their school counselor, and know where to go to access counseling on campus. Accomplishments of this strategic alliance most recently earned a 2023 Stanford Community Partnership Award.

The San Mateo County School Boards Association (SMCBA) presented RCSD with the 2021 J. Russell Kent Award honoring the school district for embracing the path toward equity consciousness and its collective responsibility to dismantle barriers and create inclusive and supportive environments for all learners.

California’s Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) has presented Redwood City School District (RCSD) with full accreditation of its Induction Program, a program offering extensive on-the-job support and mentorship to new teachers in their first two years.

Redwood City School District (RCSD) teachers, support staff, and administrators recently got a pat on the back from the City of Redwood City for the job RCSD employees have done since mid March as the school district quickly shifted to at-home learning due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. During a recent City Council meeting, the City presented a proclamation to Redwood City School District declaring May 2020 as Teacher and Staff Appreciation Month.

Redwood City School District (RCSD) teachers were the largest group of San Mateo County educators who were recently honored with the 2018-19 Math & Science Teacher Innovation Award presented by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. The awards, presented with a grant, are provided to San Mateo County teachers with proposals that show innovative STEM (science, teaching, engineering, and mathematics) teaching and learning through student directed discovery.

Henry Ford is one of only 11 schools in all of California and one of two in the Bay Area that earned this honor.
